Mother Nature can seem hell bent on destruction some times, enter the two person, double-walled MSR Fury Tent. When winds threaten to dislodge you from your precarious perch you'll be glad to have the Fury's advanced geometry and reinforced guy points to provide additional security. The tents small footprint means you can pitch it on minimal platforms and still utilize the roomy hooped vestibule and large rear mesh window for cross ventilation. Color coded pole clips help make set up a snap, especially in nasty conditions, and the DuraShield coated fabrics and taped bathtub floor help keep the inside stay dry, and the wet stuff out. Whether you're heading to Denali, or out for a week on the ACT, you'll find the performance and durability of the Fury Tent from MSR unmatched in the mountaineering tent realm.

Typical MSR high quality craftsmanship. Body is bomber: solid, keeps you warm, ventilation is excellent, nice color, easy set up and relatively speaking light weight. However, getting in or out may be difficult especially with plastic mountaineering boots as the door is small and low. Also, can't store much of your winter gear in the vestibule. Cheers to MSR for their high quality gear which I own and use. The Fury is likely the best 2P4S tent in this price range.

Unlike some hiking companies, Outdoor Research didn't mess with a good design when they created their Men's Crocodiles Gaiter--a product based on their original X-Gaiter. It's a durable and dependable waterproof coverage that keeps rain, mud and trail debris out of your socks and hiking boots. The lace hook on the front is double-riveted and the instep strap is a urethane-coated nylon construction that can easily be replaced or modified in the field. Cordura nylon and coated packcloth reinforce the boot area while waterproof and breathable Taslan GORE-TEX fabric helps keep your calves dry and comfortable. At the top of the Crocodiles Gaiter is a 3/4-inch wide webbing with a cam buckle top closure. These gaiters are comfortable enough to wear over bare legs with shorts, although most hikers and backpackers usually pair them with trail pants, rainwear or other backcountry clothing.

I am very happy with about all the items I have chosen to go with OR for ... and these gaiters are no exception. They do what gaiters are supposed to do and are high quality. I have used them for mixed conditions: ice and snow, mud, rocks and up to a foot of river water - performed great. I own the Verglas and the Crocodile ... and plan to purchase the Expeditions for upcoming trips - OR has saved me hours of research.

Perfect for backpacking, rafting, climbing, camping and adventure travel, these OR storage sacks are made from Hydroseal coated Antron nylon with taped seams, a drawcord and a dust flap to help keep dirt and moisture out. They all have webbing handles on the bottom to make un-stuffing quick and easy while a daisy chain at the side allows for easy carrying and securing. Whether youre looking to stuff your sleeping bag or you need a food bag that can withstand the rough life of being a bear-hang, the Durable Stuff Sack lives up to its name.

very high quality from OR ... if this is what you want. Item is very well made and made of high quality materials, but, unfortunately for me, I returned mine not for the quality or functionality, but for the fact that it was too heavy for my purposes as I am a light traveler. I use the lightwieght stuff sacks from OR and am very pleased with its quality.

Typical columbia quality: durable, fit is very comfortable and the functionality is what you want - belt ties well, pockets are well placed. The zipper is a great feature when in water. Good for the water or even as a pair of shorts to go out afterwards.

You'll find comfort and support well suited to day hiking and short-haul overnight trips in the Lowa Renegade Mid GTX Hiking Boots for men. These boots are more than basic lightweight hikers; they are rugged for cross-country wear and flexible for efficient hiking. The full nubuck leather uppers deliver exceptional durability, while the integrated waterproof and breathable Gore-Tex lining manages moisture from the inside-out. The perforated climate control footbeds enhance moisture management, cushioning feet and preventing blisters. Overall boot weight is low thanks to Lowa's polyurethane Monowrap Frame -- it adds the lateral ankle support that sets these boots apart from lighter duty boots without adding undue weight or bulk. Additional stability comes from the full-length, anatomical nylon shank and tough Vibram outsoles. The low-cut back fosters a good stride and reduces cuff friction. Ready to tackle rugged terrain and support the load of an overnight pack, grab the Lowa Renegade Mid Gore-Tex Boots and start planning your weekend getaway.

Have used on several car-camping day hikes; performed excellently: very comfortable and light enough for a day hike. Provide very good ankle support for day hike although I am not sure if it would be sufficient for backpacking with weight over 35 to 40 lbs - may want to go with a heavier boot. Otherwise, packing these boots may, for some who desire the option, eliminate the need for camp shoes.

Good quality construction; seems more durable than the s2s ultra sil. Have used in heavy rain; kept my pack dry, but may tend, at times, if not attached securely, to slip off top of your pack and expose to rain, but that seems more an issue with how you attach it to the pack. Appears to be shaped for an external frame pack, but works fine for internal frames - so long as it is attached securely.

Pants are of the typical high Columbia quality: well-made, functional and they look good.Secret pocket a nice touch. Thought the mesh lining to pockets would give, but have put them through fair amount of use and they are in great shape. belt is flimsy, but need to understand neede thin belt for pack belt. Pack down compact.
