Spumoni's Reviews

When you're backpacking above tree line, on a long weekend ski tour, or sitting in a comfy theater seat watching some adventure travel flicks getting stoked for your trip, you'll want lightweight, low-profile warmth. Made from shiny nylon ripstop fabric and stuffed with premium 800-fill down, the Women's Thunder Vest from The North Face is designed for active, athletic pursuits and lives up to its Summit Series pedigree. Weighing a forget-it's-even-on measly 8.5 ounces, this tiny down vest compresses to fit inside one of its own hand pockets and will hug you comfortably and snugly with an "Alpine fit as a mid layer under a winter jacket or as an outer layer on a summer camping or climbing trip. Bucking the gram-counters' strict stripped-down requirements, North Face gave this down vest 2 front pockets offering cold hands some special treatment. An ultra light layer with a true down sweater design, The North Face Thunder Vest for women will transition effortlessly into street wear thanks to the feminine cut and unique baffling. Love.

This vest is very light-weight and warm. Love the green color; the extra-small fits me perfectly (sz. 2 P; 5, 3"; 105 lbs.).
Nice close fit. Also love the three zippered pockets.
Pros Great design, light weight
Cons: feathers come out slightly on inside after wearing
