When that peak calls your name, answer it with the Men's Assault GTX Hiking Boots from Treksta. From the minute you tighten the laces, you'll know this boot is built with your year-round backpacking trips in mind.

I am a big fan of the Treksta nestfit system and expected to love these boots and have them fit the bill for backpacking trips.
The problem I've had is with the heel cup of these boots being not secure enough; leading to blisters/ hot spots on the back of the heel. I have found a solution to this; I hope, by using smartwool heavy weight phd socks which are thicker in the heel.
I also have a slight problem keeping the tongue from sliding off to the side.
Otherwise, I have found these to be comfortable and lightweight with an excellent, sticky sole. I love the nestfit comfort and feel and find that I need to order 1/2 size smaller for proper fit.
Pros nestfit system lightweight sticky sole
Cons: heel cup

A protected head means less time thinking about staying warm and more time enjoying the trail ahead; the Outdoor Research Flurry Beanie has a wool/nylon blend exterior and soft fleece lining to hold warmth in. Flat-seam construction eliminates abrasion points and the fleece lined ear band has a snug, close fit. Ideal for backcountry touring or icy morning hikes.

This is a decent quality beanie but I have an issue with how small it is (ordered a large size).
It does not cover my ears and feels tight on my head, so I had to return it.
Pros Build quality
Cons: Bad design, Low performance

I wear a size 11 street shoe and usually a 11.5 hiking boot. I hear that these boots run large. what size do you suggest? Tim

Tim,
I would recommend an 11. I had to go down from a 13 to a 12 1/2. I guess it's the way the foot conforms to the nestfit sole.
